World Lit: Project Bluest Eye

After reading The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison, the freshmen learned about different kinds of oppression and considered how America’s beauty culture is harmful to many people. They explored the question: Why do people feel pressured to alter their appearance to achieve social and financial success in America? Afterwards, students designed and presented creative projects in an effort to redefine beauty for ourselves and others.
